Train derails with toxic products WHITE NOISE 2022

The other day I found out that there was a movie from last year about a train carrying toxic products that derails. Because of this the whole city is affected and the inhabitants have to evacuate and then be isolated. To make matters worse, the authorities do not inform well what happened, they even alter the information saying that they saw UFOs (this last one is not explicitly said in the movie but we can see it by the titles of the newspapers) Everything happens in Ohio Does this sound familiar?

With this in my head I went to see it. My surprise was great when I found out that the movie was not about that, but that they only dedicated a few minutes to this event and then moved on to something else (several things actually).

It's hard to say what the movie is about. It all revolves around a family living in Ohio, near the train crash. But a lot of things happen to them.

The father is a professor who lectures about Hitler! The mother apparently has trouble remembering things, and the children seem more grown up than adults.

The movie seems more like a novel, because it is divided into several chapters that deal with different things like the woman's health problem, the radioactive issue, experimental drugs, etc.

I just saw this movie because of the similarities with the current reality that Ohio is living and because I thought it would be something apocalyptic. I had in mind that I would see a family trying to flee the contamination and suffering the consequences of not finding water or food, or maybe even having to fight with their neighbors for them. However that is not the point of the film. The film goes much further than that, so much so that I find it strange, and maybe that's the reason I didn't enjoy it as much.

I think it's not bad but it's not good either.

A colorful fact is that it is set in the 70's era. Which gives a more beautiful touch to the scenery.
