In January I saw this Japanese animated film. It is one of the best known classics of this country.
The story is set in post-war Japan. A father and his two daughters move to a small town. The mother is hospitalized and recovering.
Both girls are very restless, they do not stop playing and running. At one point they discover that in their new house there are "black fluffy things" that seem to have life, not to mention that they have eyes, in reality they are soot creatures, they usually live in abandoned places. But that's not all, because as the movie progresses we meet this cute character named Totoro and his friends, who are mythological beings of the forest.
Totoro is a mythological being that appears in the storybook of the youngest girl. That's why when the girls see him they recognize him almost instantly. Totoro is a kind-hearted, if somewhat lazy, being. He helps this pair of sisters on several occasions, especially at the end of the film.
I enjoyed it a lot, but at all times I was afraid that something bad would happen to the girls' mother (something like in Heidi) even so I liked the ending. It's a good movie for the little ones.
