Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory 1971

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a film from the early 1960s. It is based on the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by English author Roald Dahl.

The story is about a group of 5 children together with an adult who find a golden ticket to visit the most famous chocolate factory in the world. And also one that kept its doors closed to the public for a long time due to spies who wanted to steal the recipes of the sweets produced there.

This movie is a classic, based on another classic, and it rightly earned that status.

The main character is Charly, a poor boy who helps his family with what little money he can get. His dream is to be one of the winners to enter the prestigious factory.

One of the things I liked the most was Willy Wonka's personality, it's as if he doesn't care about anything. For example if a child drowns he just waits for everything to be solved.

The kids are unbearable (in a good way for the movie) starting with that little girl who must have everything she sees, insisting to her dad in a very annoying way.

Another character I disliked was the grandfather, pretending to be good, when he lied for 20 years that he couldn't get out of bed to then accompany Charly to the factory.

The inside of the factory is not like any other, it seems a world apart and magical. And the presence of the Oompa Loompa only reinforces this.

As the story progresses we will take a tour of this very special factory.

I just have to say that I loved Gene Wilder's performance and I really enjoyed this movie.
